The International Workshop on Geography and Sustainability 2023
Theme: Geography and Sustainable Development: Challenges and Opportunities
October 26-29, 2023, Beijing, China
The International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development launched by UNESCO highly recognized the importance of basic sciences for attaining sustainable development. As a transdisciplinary discipline studying the coupled human and nature systems and their interactions, geography has natural advantages to promote sustainable development by providing the underpinning theories, methodologies, models and data. Geographers have made important contributions to exploring the nexus between the natural and social sciences, and delivered knowledge and experiences that are needed to support transformation towards sustainable development.
The International Workshop on Geography and Sustainability 2023 aims to identify the challenges and explore the opportunities associated with geography and sustainable development. All submissions addressing sustainable development from a geography perspective will be warmly welcomed.
